In January this year, I turned 30 and celebrated by hitting the streets of New York City with Ross for four days and packed in as much as was physically possible in the space of time we had. Over the course of our stay I made a few observations and have a number of highlights I would like to share.
One of my favourite places in the Highland Capital is Velocity Cafe and Bicycle Workshop. So I suggest you grab your thick rimmed glasses, pack your MacBook and pedal over to get yourself a hummus superfood salad with a flat white. Then, when you're finished, learn how to tweak your vintage city bike so you'll be cruising like a pro. A pro hipster that is.
There is so much to do in Aviemore it's hard to know where to start, so I decided to break myself in gently by starting small and working my way up to the more adventurous sights.
Nestled in the Cairngorm National Park, Aviemore is a busy town all year round with tourists and locals doing various activities by land, mountain, water, snow and tree (yes, they have zip wires - I cannot wait for that one to happen!).
